Holiday Labor of Love
Our Holiday Labor of Love food distribution event brought joy to so many! Volunteers and partners worked selflessly to serve our families in need despite the rain. Many thanks are extended to West Charlotte Church at Freedom for providing space and volunteers to support our event. Many thanks also go to Food Lion and Wells Fargo for their amazing employee volunteers and sponsorship support!
We reached about 125 households with food bags, turkeys, holiday pies, fresh produce, eggs, and water. After the event, our friends at West Charlotte Church assisted with the delivery of extra food to Allenbrook Elementary School, Jackson Day School, A Better World, and the Prison Fellowship’s Angel Tree Program - all serving families on Charlotte’s westside.
The day was made especially festive and fun by a donation of holiday trees, ornaments, and decorations that were provided to families by Lowe’s.
“We are so very thankful to partner with the Muggsy Bogues Foundation and look forward to our next event together.”

Thank You to Our Partner Agencies
Besides the food families receive, the MBFF also arranges for workforce development providers, preventive health services, and other resources to be onsite to engage with participants. At our Holiday Labor of Love, these partners played a huge role in our success:
- Food Lion Human Resources: employment and training opportunities
- Charlotte Community Health Clinic: blood pressure checks, COVID tests and vaccines
- Wellcare: personal hygiene kits
- Healthy Blue North Carolina: health education and Medicaid information
- The Odd Sock: socks of all sizes for family members
- CGC Water Treatment: cases of drinking water
- E2D: two laptops won by food recipients
