Executive Director

Terry Albanese is a proven leader who has dedicated her career to helping economically, educationally, and culturally disadvantaged populations to improve their quality of life. She is the founder of Albanese Nonprofit Consulting Services, LLC and brings extensive experience in the public health, workforce development and higher education sectors to her consulting role.

Detail-, vision- and impact-oriented, Terry is seasoned in strategic planning, partnership building, project management, fund development, and communications. Raising over $30 million to date, Terry has seen great success in securing funds from public and private funding agencies, foundations and donors. This success has made her instrumental in helping many organizations grow staff and programs, raise organizational visibility, and improve outreach and impact for the communities they serve.

Throughout her career, Terry’s leadership initiatives have spanned local, regional and state levels on issues as diverse as chronic disease prevention for underserved populations, advanced manufacturing educational pathways for community colleges, and health professions pipeline programs for disadvantaged students. Her work in higher education also includes teaching at the State University of New York in the fields of community health and personal health and wellness.

Terry holds a Master of Science in Education and Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the State University of New York. In 2016, she completed Leadership Gift School at the Institute for Philanthropic Leadership in Charlotte. Originally from Syracuse, New York, Terry believes in giving back to her community. She currently volunteers with Mental Health America of Central Carolinas and donates to her favorite non-profits in the Charlotte area.
