Thanksgiving Labor of Love
All families deserve a meal on the table during the Thanksgiving holiday, but many go without. To address this need, the MBFF hosts the Thanksgiving Labor of Love food distribution event in November. Families receive food boxes, turkeys, water, pies, grocery gift cards, and other necessities.
Our first Thanksgiving Labor of Love was held in 2021, reaching 111 families (438 individuals). Our 2022 event will be held on November 19 with a goal to reach 125 families.
"Being able to receive this help with food for Thanksgiving was truly a blessing in disguise. As the oldest child of 5, with a mom who works 2 jobs to give us all our needs, I know it was a relief to her that we got this box donation of food and that she wouldn't have to worry about being able to get us Thanksgiving dinner. Nothing can beat the face of my siblings seeing a whole turkey, apple pie, and my little brother's favorite - mashed potatoes on the table.”
