Thanksgiving Labor of Love
All families deserve a meal on the table during the Thanksgiving holiday, but many go without. To address this need, the MBFF hosts the Thanksgiving Labor of Love food distribution event each November. Families receive food boxes, turkeys, water, pies, grocery gift cards, and other necessities.
Our first Thanksgiving Labor of Love was held in 2021, reaching 111 families. Our 2022 event was held on November 19, reaching 132 families (540 adults and children). Many thanks are extended to Wray Ward for allowing us to use their parking lot and facility for our event!
This year, through a partnership with Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, three families were selected to receive a holiday feast thanks to Firebird’s generosity. One family had this to say about receiving a meal:
"What a blessing. I can’t thank them enough! It was the most fabulous Thanksgiving feast I’ve had in countless years. The meal was perfectly prepared, every bite delicious. Three generations were gathered together in gratitude and love as we relaxed and enjoyed the bounty of this generous gift. More than a gourmet meal was provided that day. Family bonds were strengthened, and traditions were restored. Thank you so much for making that possible.”
