Spring Labor of Love
Food insecurity remains a significant issue in Mecklenburg County. This year, to have deeper reach and better impact, the MBFF is focusing its food distribution efforts in the 28208 and 28214 zip codes on Charlotte’s west side. Underserved families in these zip codes will have the opportunity to participate in our Labor of Love food distribution events. To support our work in these specific zip codes, this year’s Spring Labor of Love will be held at Freedom Communities on Tuckaseegee. With support from this community quarterback, we have access to the families most in need. Besides the food families receive, the MBFF also arranges for workforce development providers and preventive health services to be onsite to speak with participants.
We are excited to announce a new partnership with Food Lion as our official grocer partner and sponsor of Labor of Love. This partnership will allow for the MBFF and Food Lion, through its Food Lion Feeds program, to serve more families than ever before.
